Youth Walk Magazine article on SANCTUARY

YW Magazine -SANCTUARY interview by Laurin Makohon

A few years ago, one of my best friends, Chad Hambrick and I were featured in Walk Thru the Bible‘s Youth Walk Magazine highlighting our partnerships and years of ministry in Guatemala.  His spunky, God-fearing childhood friend Laurin Makohon, now editor, wrote the article.  Laurin and I became instant friends.

Over the last year, Laurin’s mom has been greatly dealing with a debilitating illness that leaves her continually fighting for her life. With “Mama” bedridden, and frail, Chad asked me to go minister with him at her house in Marietta. God was honored as we prayed and sang songs of praise, worship, and celebration.  I had just begun wrapping up my newest recording, SANCTUARY, which was designed to be a soundtrack to meeting with the Lord. I played through a couple of these songs which thematically include petitioning for God’s presence, healing, comfort, peace, among others. The way the Lord used that moment for Chad and I to minister to Laurin, Mama, and a close friend is something I will take with me to the other side of eternity.

The next day I received an email from Laurin inviting me to feature  SANCTUARY in an upcoming release of Youth Walk. Of course I gratefully accepted. Leading up to the interview, Laurin was able to spend some time in sanctuary listening to SANCTUARY. I am blessed and honored to continually be used by God to make music that changes lives!
